It often happens that brown and rainbow trout can be very selective, hence my desire to create a truly exceptional nymph. The SBN was born with this in mind. I don’t hesitate to go down to size 18 when the fish become extremely selective. These nymphs retain all their advantages even in small sizes. A size 18 SBN is only 7mm long, but the body, thorax, legs, and back are still present, albeit on a smaller scale.
On this little SBN010, I added a chrome flash “spot.” Very bright and placed under the “back” of the steelbacknymph, this chrome spot is “discreet” yet still visible! I think it’s a good compromise, and the trout seem to like it!
